The Songbirds

Thank you for the Music

April 2017

Members of the Ringwood and Fordingbridge Club for the Blind welcomed in the Spring season with two enjoyable sessions at their twice monthly meetings in March.

At the first meeting the delicious afternoon tea was preceded by the talented Song Birds, an elegant local four voice ensemble accompanied by their colleague on guitar. The talented quartet sang pieces from ballads, swing, and pop together with many other popular songs. Our members were enchanted and joined in the chorus when they were encouraged to.

For the end of March meeting the members were entertained by Timothy Rice on keyboard playing songs from an Oxford Song Book of Music which included well known tunes from the 50's and 60's. Music from these decades is always popular with the members as it brings back so many memories. After the entertainment, as usual, a lovely tea was enjoyed by all, with sandwiches, cream cake and a good cup of tea.

The Ringwood and Fordingbridge Club for the Blind's next meeting is on the 13 April 2017. The Club meets on the second and fourth Thursday afternoon of each month at the Activities Centre of Greyfriars near Ringwood Library.
